TV Indent

Indent
an indent is a short  clip that is shown on a TV channel to promote that brand, Indent is short for identification, very commonly a channel will use the indent to give the views a hint as to what's on next, for example there intent may have a romantic theme if a love film is on next.
Common features include;
Name of channel – brand
Voice over- announcing next program

Film 4 Romantic Indent

This indent for Film 4 is probably set at night after the watershed as it shown sexual imagery and was dark. set at a very slow pace and was a slow tempo, this was shown through the audio

Setting/time- night time after the watershed
Tempo- slow pace throught the audio and slow movement
Audience interaction- there is no breaking of the 4th wall
Information or entertainment- it is both as it gives information as to what is on next however it drawn in the audience.

Branding- the branding is  both visual and auditorial. Logo is drawn in and the adio says channl name just as its finished appearing.

Schedualing- before a film called love story and after the wartershed as it has sxual content

Mis-en-scene-tere a 2 youngish people and they are leding up to a kiss, the male is taking up moist of the screen (because sexist). As they do finally kiss the scere kuts into 4 different sections, this is to represent that it is film4

Representation- the woman iks being shown as being small and fragile, her heading being held so that she is ‘protected’ a close up of a womans moth is shownbecause she is sexulaised by men.

Audience- by mentioning tom hardy and the film title it luers in women   By howing a sexulised woman it luers in the man because he tinks he is going to see some sexual content.

Creative Journey

Creative journey

week beginning 5th september:
We were introduced to a room that we could use for our filming so during this week we moved all the green screen equipment down stairs and set it all up. while doing this we had to make sure that we were making everything level, for example the two lights.

week beginning 12th september:

filming- on Monday we decided to start filming scenes that take place in front of the green screen.
we did a few different takes for the last green screen scene of out production where bangers freezes mid jump. for this we had to monitor many different factors such as how high in the air he jumped and how far out his arms stretched. we also needed to take into consideration if he turned while he was jumping.

we also decided to film the close up of a bowl being knocked out of bangers hand from scene 1.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZWUYatNjOs&feature=youtu.be
This link will take you to a clip that shows how we produced the scene with the cereal

Green Screen- we have decided that we are no longer going to present the white ladys sister as being headless.

we will now have a scene infront of the green screen where bangers is eating crunchy nut cornflakes and starts in imagen a sexy box of cereal.

the whole of scene 6 (the dungeon scene) will possibly be infront of a green screen depending if we can get permission for filming in a legitimate location.

character profiles- the character profiles are changing as we are finding people to portray the rolls.
for example our actor for Bangers has a lip piercing therefore our character profile had to be adjusted.

Social Media- Everyone in the project communicate through a facebook group chat this is how we decide on filming days and share images of our progress.

on Friday we visited Tamworth castle where we were location reckies and took photos of locations we could possibly film. and Iconic imagery which we could incorporate into our production.
we hads a tour of the castle so that we could find out facts that we felt we could relate to our production and give it a little bit of validity.
during the tour we conducted an interview and asked questions to find out more infomation.

people just do nothing

“People just do nothing”

Qualitative Research:

This type of research focuses more on getting a personal answer rather than just figures which would be quantitative. For example, if you conduct a questionnaire, multiple choice questions would quantitative and questions that require the individual to write their own answer would be qualitative.

Audience research:

When conducting audience research it is important to monitor the consumer’s behaviour and attitudes.

Market research:

This involves a lot of production marketing which involve , studying your target audience and figuring out how much money you coukld possibly get out of the project, this allows you to waigh up how much ney you should put into the project to garentee that you will come out the other side woth a profit rather than a loss.

You would also need to looking similar projects being made, if there is another film being made that has the same consept than you would potentially make less mioney due to people needing to choose, therefore you need to analyse your competitors. C4 Films could rival a “people just do nothing” movie by releasing a 3rd Inbetweeners movie.

You would also need to do indepth research about appropriate and effective places to advertise for this production.  We decided that the taget audience for this production would be 15 year olds therefore appropriate places to advertise would be near high schools and in shopping centres. We could also have them working with places such as reebok inorder to advertise and get funding for the project..

By advertising in appropriate places we are appealing to our target audience, if you advertise outside a primary school you are attracting the attention of people who are unable to view the product.

Production research:

Content- we are planning on having the people just do noithing cast travel to the united states and get intio a fued with a popular rap artist, they end up taking part in a RAP vs GRIME contest and loose, after that they go back to thew UK and continue to be nobodys.

Viability and finance-  To be able see whether or not this program will be profitable we would have to find a similar program that was made into a movie. For this I would choose to the inbetweeners, For their first movie they had a budget of £3.5 million, In the box office they made $88 million.

Placement media- Our advertisement would be placed near collages and sixth form as these are places that out target audience will most commonly see our advertisements. It would also be shown on channels such as E4 and ITV2, We would also set up pages on websites such as Facebook, twitter, and Instagram.

Costs- in inbetweeners they fly over to another county and the story is set in that location, therefore we are going to base our cost on this, our costs would be approximately $3.5 million.

Digital resources- we would film with a Sony HD camera, all editing would be done with premier pro on a APPLE MAC computer.

Personnel- Allan 'Seapa' Mustafa as MC Sniper/MC Grindah
Hugo Chegwin as Kevin
Daniel Sylvester Woolford as Decoy
Lily Brazier as Michelle
Asim Chaudhry as Chabuddy G

Locations- our location would be London ion the UK, and LA in the USA

Copyright- before producing the show we would have to receive proposition from the original creators of the people just do nothing brand.

Regulations- before filming in a location you would need to contact the land owners and come to an agreement as to how much you would need to pay for so much time, this would involve creating contracts between all parties involved.

you would also need to do a list of safety hazards and how they can be avoided.

Secondary research:

Secondary research refers to when you gain information from already conducted research, for example book, journals, magazines, DVDs, internet sites, newspapers and rating. For all of these things people have already done their own research and then published them publicly.

The alternative to this would be primary research , thos rerfers to research that you would conduct yourself through interviews, questionares, surveys, and focus groups, this way you can make sure you are using reliable sources and know that your information is accuret.

However something cannot be easily gatherd therefore people will turn to data gathering agencys such as, BARB, Experian, mosaic and You-gov
